Some get here, post something and then bugger off.  That is why I am reluctant to welcome some.

I'll try that again!

I don't think it is a personal thing TA, probably just a coincidence   big_laugh  runaway

Takes two weeks to form a new habit apparently! If a new person posted every day for two weeks they would be hooked!

As to the dandelion syrup I should think it is the same as Rosehip etc. I will give it a go next year.

I once made it with the kids at a youth club. It wasn't a fantastic success but it did keep them busy a whole afternoon. And they always ate whatever we concocted

Ah, it was Aly who said she had made it into a sore muscle oil.

Yup, found it my hedgerow medicine book!

fill a jam jar with dandelions, pour in olive oil to cover until no air pockets. Cover jar with fabric held on with elastic band. Leave in a warm sunny place. Ensure flowers stay under the oil or they will become mouldy. Leave for a week or two until flowers look limp and have lost their colour. Strain off oil and leave to stand as their may be water from the flowers. Water will sink to the bottom. Pour off into bottles leaving watery bits behind. Is good for muscle tension and cold stiff joints. Also good for dry skin and is gentle for around the eyes. Can also be used as a salad dressing.

you can add essential oils for external use which act as natural preservative and bring other healing qualities. Lavander, Ylang Ylang and Rosemary all work well with Dandelion.
