Hi all
Been reading this forum for ages and now I'm signed up :)
I have a olive farm/ small holding near tortosa in Spain
It is an organic 8 acre farm 1000 ft up a mountain
I am now raising goats, pigs, ducks and chickens as well as growing all my own vegetables.
Hopefully by next year I shall be growing enough to feed all the animals too, then I shall be totally organic.
I have two donkeys which help out with keeping the land clear and of course producing copious amounts of manure.
I used to own a cafe bistro and worked as a chef, so I am an avid lover of good food, (ok overweight)
I produce my own organic cold pressed olive oil which I reckon is just about the best in the world, not biased
The farm is called cactus jack because of two enormous cacti which are growing up the front of the house.
Adios Steve

Most people here call me stebbay as that's how they pronounce the letter V. :)

Welcome Cactus Jack, or Steve or Stebbay, a Rose by any other name, etc. Great to have a member from Spain, so very interesting. I hate Olive Oil, it's the stuff my Mum used to rub on us in the Summer when we were likely to burn, before the invention of all the high priced gunk, and as for cooking with it, good old Lard was what she used! Strangle though, I do like the occasional Olive, especially the one's you get with Feta. I do wish you well in all your undertakings. Tina .wave

Hi Simon
I haven't met Martin and Penelope , but I do know whereabouts their farm is.
In fact I can probably see it from here, but it's about 20 miles away on the other side of the valley.
I don't sell my oil as I use it all myself.
