Hi there,

We've just served up our first glasses of raspberry gin (courtesy of this site) and so I thought it was time to post.

We live right in the middle of Galicia and we've just picked our sloes.  Everything's been early this year  - blackberries, pears and now the sloes.

It'll be (sorry) sloe, sloe, prick prick sloe....bad pun, but it's the fiesta season and 'tis the season to dance.

ciao from Lugo Province.

We have no dogs, 2 cats, 7 chickens and a cockerel who was donated from one of our neighbours and called a 'capon'  - we'll see!

There are no other incomers in our village and life is amazing.  Mad, but totally wonderful.

xx

Katrine,

Welcome to the forum & to all the fun & information on here (also the madness which strikes us occasionally whistle ).

I am busy turning all the fruit from my garden into treats for the winter. I should be packing up all my belongings for a major renovation of my house but I can't let the fruit rot or my chicken scoff it.......big_laugh. They love everything except the apricots, which surprises me....maybe it is the fuzzy skin.

Lovely to have you with us.

Hello Katrine and welcome.  I echo Hattie's last statement.

I'll try that again!

I'm taking it this is your bit from the post...when I read about the 'fuzzy' skin, I thought you' gone down with your old ailment that we won't mention here. (Don't want to embarrass you.)

Just got back from rehab then?....Were you released because they found your 'stash' or did you scrump the goodies from the hospital grounds??  You lovable rogue you...big_laughbig_laugh

Can I also say welcome Katrine...from one of the other 'oddities' on the forum....whistlewhistle

Welcome Katrina

I agree, I think everything is early this year, I've got cooking apples and damsons falling off trees all over theplace and I'm not ready for them yet, still working on the victoria plum glut.

Hi Katrine and welcome.

Yep, same as Janet (Terrier) above, a lot of our flowers were really early this year and we also have tons of apples falling off the trees faster than we can use them.

Hmm not the same here, we haven't had much in the way of fruit compared to last year, unless you take the occasion where we ended up with a tray of blueberries after rescuing a guy with a puncture who had a van full of them. whistle

Welcome indeed Katrine wave. I guess if you have been following the forum at all you will already know what a bunch of nutters we all are whistle
