Hi,

I've just joined today and look forward to having a good nosey around the site and forum.  It looks just up my street.

Hi Julie

Let me be the first to welcome you.

This forum and the blog is a fantastic source of information.

The people of here are a really nice bunch.

Just read you profile, I think you'll fit in just fine.

Nice profile, Julie. Thank you for joining us.

Fiona and I were only last night saying how lucky we are to have such a nice bunch of people on here. I guess the nasty ones have no interest in growing cabbages, making preserves, or smoking their own . . eh, garlic cheers

You'd be surprised Danny.  I've been a member of another forum on self sufficiency for a few years and just recently some of the men on there have been at each others throats constantly.  I really hope they don't ever meet each other in real life because I'm pretty sure there would be fists involved.  It got to the stage where quite a few of us don't bother posting there any more.  But not to worry, I've found a new home now smile.

Crikey!

I had no idea that any self-sufficiency forum could lead to competition and even fisticuffs.

Thanks for opening my eyes, Julie.

Then again, do those forums have anything as terrifying as ToffeeApple's tool of discipline . .  spork

I bet they don't.

Neither do they have a Moderatrix who flashes her knickers - sorry, let me re-phrase that - I mean, who posts photos of intricate embroidery on personal garments. big_laugh

Janet -the bloomin' site software is acting up again.

Do a quick double-click on the member name and it opens up.

Hi Julie,

Welcome to the forum. I too have come across some pretty nasty people on various forums who bully others who are seeking advice on various subjects....very unpleasant to witness. You won't find any of that here, where it is all very friendly.

I love your crocheted bags on your Etsy site.

Good to have you as part of our slightly batty group of eccentrics.....!! big_laugh
