Hello, I am new to this having never registered to anything like this before! I have checked into this website on many many occasions and found it invaluable and enjoyable. I keep hens, quail, dogs, a husband and three children. I love baking and jam and chutney making (although I do not profess to be any good at it)

A warm welcome Elderflower.....or Nellie - which do you prefer?  Whereabouts in the country are you? (well, maybe you're not in this country!).

I've never made chilli jam, although several of our members have so one of them might be able to advise you better.  However, I do make fruit jams and chutneys, and I would have thought that reboiling, maybe adding some lemon juice, might well work.  I've done that myself in the past.

Hi Nellie,

we used to keep quail - they are quite cute funny birds. We had to stop when we needed to convert the middle bedroom from quail hatchery to child's bedroom frown
