We have just fitted some new wardrobes from a well known Swedish source and of course it has come in lots and lots of cardboard packaging. A good use for it rather than landfil ! Thanks for the tip. smile

wave Mind you give it a thorough soak on both sides before you lay it down, best done after a lot of rain I I think you have had a soaking up there recently. Oh, one more thing, mind you hold it down with long metal pegs or heavy stones.otherwise it might blow all over the place.  smile

Not sure what wildplants you have in your area, but elderflower tonics are good for hayfever and allergies, as are tonics made from any of the following, I can probably give you more details if you want.. Eyebright, chamomile, plantain, milk thistle, golden rod and ground ivy.

We have a red berried elder but both the red and black variety are actually classified as a non-native invasive weeds here. I think we have most of those plants except eyebright and so tonics would be lovely to have, so I would love some more details from you Janet.

Most effective are things like chamomile, making an infused oil, which can then be made into a salve or ointment by the addition of warming it and adding beeswax.

Or how about a tea made from equal measures dried elderflower, nettle and chamomile? Use 50g fresh chopped herbs in 1pt boiling water, leave to infuse for 10 mins, add honey to taste and drink either hot or cold.

Another option is to make a tincture with the fresh plant parts and vodka, allow the plants to dry overnight (as this drives off some of the moisture, then chop and put in to a  clean jar, pour over vodka. (ratio 1 part herb to 2 parts vodka..eg 100g chopped herb to 200ml vodka). Leave in a darkplace for 2 weeks then strain through muslin - squeezing out every last drop. take 1 tsp 3 times a day, mixed in with a little water or juice.

I favour the tea. I rather like a cup of it late at night.

Now I misread the label and ended up taking three tablespoons, three times a day and she was right, I felt much better but how did I know that it contained¦..VODKA¦.and would changed the colour of those crystals that you keep in this little tube when I blew into it¦.and believe me, I don't feel better at all¦.eeekeeek..big_laughbig_laugh
