It's a blog, LINK HERE.  Lots of lovely embroidery and other things.

Wonderful! I have added it to favourites. Anything to do with paints and fabrics gets my vote and I love poppy seed heads.cheers

I'm glad you like the site Joanna.  I won a brooch from her once, it's so pretty.

I'll try that again!

Joanna, have you finished any more of your wonderful embroidery/collages?

Those you showed us a while back I thought were fab. Don't stop.

Kate, have you ever seen THIS artist's site?  I like his 'still life' pictures better than the landscapes, but they are all rather good.

TA, looking at some of these pictures, there are lots of oils - have you ever tried this medium?

I have only worked in watercolours and aquarelle pencils.

Oh yes, BS, I have tried oils and egg tempera but can't get on with them.  I think I am too impatient. With water-colour or pencils I have an almost immediately finished picture that I can work on as soon as I want to.  Regarding pencils, I have such an  assortment, from pure graphite to soluble graphite and wax to aquarelle...I could probably start a shop.

I'll try that again!

Oh I would love to but haymaking, grass collecting and gardening calls at the moment as well as trying to process all the produce. There is little energy to be creative at the moment. Having said that I am doing a cushion for the rings for my son's wedding and will be embroidering my daughters wedding dress so that should keep me busy once my hands are clean enough for silky fabrics eeek

I'll try that again!

In response to TA- the Hat Festival was excellent. The weather was wonderful, the numbers attending exceeded our wildest dreams- and everyone in hats.

Festival opened on Friday with  the wonderful Hank Wangford and the Lost Cowboys, Hank wearing a different hat for every number and the audience be-hatted and be- cowboyed to a man and woman.

Saturday was the day for the outside stuff all round the town, workshops, talks, displays and the indoor markets- loads of smiling be-hatted people, from the start of the day asking if it will happen again next year ( yes). My little stall went well and I sold lots of my brooches and hat pins.

Sunday I taught my workshop, which went swimmingly, and the Festival ended with a gathering at the local woodstove pizza place, which was heaving with people, but there was enough celebratory hat-shaped cake for all to have a piece to round off the weekend.

My niece and I are now getting stuff made for a stall at the Bridport Christmas Fair as we had such fun on the stall at the Hat Fair.

I am completely knackered.

God, that was a brilliant day out, Kate. ok welldone

The people seemed so genuinely happy, and not too posing (except for that young blonde with the green hat in the photo gallery - was she the photographer's girlfriend?) brightsparklystuff

Fabulous.I would love to have been there. Might even have decorated my Panama with miniature KateUK dolls!

The girl in the green hat was posing as she was wearing the hat she had just re-trimmed and re-shaped at my hat workshop and was a little self concious about being photographed! Went out wearing it afterwards though.

It was a lovely weekend.

Came across some easy origami ideas - have made a couple, just to try, see here.

Could be an idea for some Christmas cards, and the little mini tote bag is ideal for a little chocolate, say, at a special dinner with the coffee, or even as a little tooth fairy bag.

Clever people who can design these things! welldone
