Tina, type in 'Computer images for cardmaking' into Google, and have a look at some of the things - had to laugh, I saw this:

Image Enlarger

from craftypixiedust.blog !!

"How do you spell 'Love'?" (Piglet).

"You don't spell it, you feel it" (Pooh).

'A hug,' said Pooh 'is always the right size!'

I will do that, and it is true, the best friend I ever had, and we never met, was my American friend, Leigh, God rest her soul, we talked for ten years every day, shared life's up's and down's, sent little gifts, Xmas and birthdays big ones, every night Ihave to have my Teddy she sent me for our first Xmas beside me, I remember her every day with love.

I had an American internet friend too, lived in Rhode Island.  She is also badly missed.

I'll try that again!

As John Lennon said:

"Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans"

Sometimes it can be cruel when you lose someone too early.

I have to admit I've become lazy. I started out making cards by cutting out shapes and sticking on photos and dressing it all up with flowers and suchlike. I also made a scrapbook for my parents' 60th anniversary, with 60 pages of photos all themed and dressed up. I followed that up with scrapbooks for each of them for their prewar and war years.

I rather ran out of steam after all that and now my cards are designed on the computer and printed out. I still like to do something unique and personal, using photos I've taken myself if possible. For the children I have fun, using their own drawings or finding pictures of their favourite toys or characters. I also like to put them (and sometimes I do it with grown ups too) into imaginary pictures. So my grand-daughter became a fairy with a rose petal dress, my grandson was part of a Thomas the Tank Engine picture, and my son has been seen sitting on the Starship Enterprise having a conversation with Einstein! My mother found herself standing next to her own four year old self. Of course, I've made a rod for my own back now, having to come up with more ideas each year.

Half way through writing this I found out another friend has died and I must turn my thoughts to another sympathy card. They are the hardest of all, don't you find? Finding the right thing to say, something that feels honest and from the heart.

Never assume anything - except an occasional air of intelligence.

I always keep it simple with Sympathy Cards, just a flower Spray on the front, and leave the inside blank, to be written on by the sender. I do not like doing Men Cards, especially Football ones, don't mind funny Decoupage. I like "pretty", so enjoy that most, I aso like using Buttons on Cards, especially Cards for boys.  I too , have made Albums, made a Birth to two year old, one for Louis, my eight year old Grandson. But I did make all my Grandchildren, and my great Grandchildren, Birth Samplers, so they all have family Heirlooms. There is a tussle going on, between my daughter, and my Grand daughter, over my Wedding Sampler, my Grand daughter always wanted it, and her Father is a son of my first marriage, my daughter has it, and say's she want's it because it is my Wedding! I know it should go to Gemma, my Grand daughter, but my daughter has it, I have asked her for it back, but she will not part with it. I should say, all the Birth Samplers were in Cross-stitch.

Not really my thing with the card making, I have seen some lovely ones at some of the craft fairs I do, but there are also so many ladies doing them that its not an avenue I've bothered to venture down. My friend was making them for a while and I sold them on my little stall for a while, but decided to leave it to others.

I have my regulars who come back to me time and again, the thing they like is that I can personalize them, with name  and choice of subject, even colour. Also, I do it to raise funds o feed feral Cats, and other animal Charities, The Dog's Trust, and put money in the gift fund for my child in China, at Xmas. It makes me feel as if I am of some use, being both old, and disabled, so works both way's, it is very theruputic, I cannot spell the word, sorry!.

I have been too busy today, to make anything but quick visits, while I had a break, no gadding about in the Garden ,today, anyway, not gadding weather. So many Card orders, got to knuckle down.
