What a good find Kaye, you'll have to let us know what you make form them.

Hattie, I have a Daylight bulb of the ordinary kind, are the energy-saving ones any different in clarity?

I'll try that again!

TA, I used to use the ordinary Daylight bulbs in my studio when I was designing & these new ones are definitely infinitely brighter And cost about the same price to buy & use less electricity. I also got free delivery but I'm not sure if that is still on offer.

Thank you Hattie.  I rather like the sunrise alarm clock, though I don't need an alarm these days.

I'll try that again!

Thanks for the link, Nadine.

we are investing in anti-SAD light bulbs this year because we both suffered a prolonged bout of "the blues" last winter. May not be SAD, of course, but at least it will make us feel better knowing we have those bulbs.

That sounds like a sensible precaution.

Danny, let us know if they are any good. I ordered something similar from the States last year, as my rooms are rather dark inside, but I haven't really noticed anything different.

I haven't bought any, but I keep being tempted by daylight bulbs. There are so many sites selling these things, and so many that don't work, that I'd be glad to hear from someone who has used them what they used and if it worked!

Healthy House is another site that sells them, expensively, but they have a rental option. (I found the site when I was looking for products to help control allergies.)

Danny.....the new light bulbs are making a lot of differnce.  It takes a bit of getting used to the colour of the light emitted. It is not warm & cosy but it has certainly perked me up a bit. With these grey rainy days lately, along with shorter days I am still feeling more cheerful & lively (given that my flu seems to have come back for a reprise.....aargh)  I will definitely be ordering more. They certainly throw out a lot of light.

yeah, it was pretty spiffy, but tiring. Sam could do with a holiday now to recover, but instead he has to go to work. Poor lamb.

I took it easy yesterday, but have much to be getting on with today. So far I've had a bowl of cereal and caught up with my fora...

More cross stitchery 🙂

can you tell what it is yet?

Ok, so the patterns behind it may be a giveaway. It's a cute nativity scene for my step sister. I love these motifs, they're super adorable. My favourite is a child in a bunny suit, he's on a different page than the one shown.
