I have a new villager in the lounge and that is fine with scrap wood that we have in abundance in the barns. It is I agree a pain picking out all the nails but worth it. The fire also keeps itself clean with the airwash system. My Esse is a different matter and only likes good seasoned wood, trial and error has taught us! It is all a steep learning curve!

Aly, ' a new villager' - is that a make of wood-burning stove, or do you now have an assistant in your lounge  eeek ?

I bought one of these heat exchangers from ChimneyHeaters.com and it is Stainless Steel. The rest of the pipes in my house are Copper and some plastic. I get a tremendous amount of heat from this thing and I am worried that it will melt the copper or plastic tubing.

The heat coming out of the Chimney Heater is about 190f does anyone know if this is to hot for the copper or Plastic pipes in my House?

I wouldn't have thought that the copper tubes would be a problem, but there's plastic and there's other plastic - so who knows - perhaps better to ask the manufacturers.

Sorry I can't really help!

Not quite sure what you mean! I have a wood burner and wood burning oven, I also have solar tubes. The tubes and the oven heat the water in the heat exchanger. All tubes from the fire and oven are either steel or copper, the pipes between the tubes and the heat exchanger are plastic. As suggested I would check with the manufacturer to be sure your system is safe. Let us know how you get on.
