"How do you spell 'Love'?" (Piglet).

"You don't spell it, you feel it" (Pooh).

'A hug,' said Pooh 'is always the right size!'

LOL BS thought Id post the reply here to keep you following me around!!

Market went very well.  The other stall holders were very friendly and I did quite well, taking 70 euros, so making around 35 euros profit

It really helped that my lovely neighbours came to the stall and encouraged anyone there to buy.  Also that people know me by sight and a but more from Joe's school and so I could persuade them to come and try and then sometimes buy.  As I suspected the jams sell best and I think the road to supersales will be slow but will come eventually!!

Back there again next week and then every 2 weeks from then on

LOL - that would make a change, ay!!!! big_laugh

From small beginnings and all that ...... little acorns can grow, too.  big_hug

welldone Shelley.

At least it's a start, and the more often you're there, people will begin to know where to come to get their jams, curds and other preserves.

I hope so!!  Apart from people I knew, I only sold to 2 delightful older ladies, who carefully tasted all my jams (praising them all!!) and then buying my blackberry jelly, my fig jam and my elderberry syrup each;   I was thrilled

Congratulations. From such small beginnings my Mum and Dad built up a jewellery business ie they started off by selling to friends and family and ended up with a shop which they are only just going to retire from next year after 28 years. cheers

wave Oh I am glad it went well Shelley.  Wait till people taste your produce and word gets round.  Then I am sure it will really take off.  big_hug

thanks both of you; It is becoming more important now as my employer for the english lessons is having difficulties and we were paid late again this month; he says he will decide at the end of october whether or not to continue; If I did all the local markets and cleared 35 euros a day, I would make  about the same as I make in the english lessons!

Problem is, Shelley, you have to keep producing, too - this time of year is good for harvesting wild foods, but what about the depths of winter, etc....

Maybe bring out those friendship bracelets and suchlike big_laugh  big_laugh

welldone Very well done Shelley!  We're proud of  you.  Sad to hear about the teaching being precarious but I'm certain you can maintain your living standards by food production.  How about Chestnut compote to add to your list for winter?

I'll try that again!
