Will this do, TA ?

"How do you spell 'Love'?" (Piglet).

"You don't spell it, you feel it" (Pooh).

'A hug,' said Pooh 'is always the right size!'

I want to build aTandir oven in the garden (similar to an igloo shaped pizza oven) but was quoted ridiculous prices. I appreciate that dimensions and materials are crucial to get optimum results but  for the amount that it would be used as an actual oven I am willing to compromise and give it a go

ourselves (me and a local villager who helps) He is going to ask his grandfather for advice. Has anybody had a go at a pizza oven? I have consulted several sites  and have got some ideas.

How did your oven go Sandy? Was it a success? I thought about you when I received an email that had a book about clay ovens and if you still need some instructions this might be an optioncheers

Anybody who signed up for email notifications on Simon Brooks' site will have been told about a communal effort in Finland.

It is a daunting task to take on a project such as a self build Tandoor oven or a wood-fired bread/pizza oven. They are very complicated, but not that difficult for a DIYer when you can ask first hand advice from people who have built them and offer free advice on every step of the build.

There are a few sites available on the web who give advice to first time builders of wood-fired ovens and will interact with the different stages of a build¦¦¦..I run an interactive info/forum site for uk enthusiasts of wood-fired ovens ( non-commercial) ¦..and have helped with many Pompeii-style, vault and cob ovens over the last year. This is my first post on this forum so it would be very rude of me to mention my info site, but in the interest of the OP of this thread, a Tandoor oven can be self-made and someone has put his photo diary on the web for others to follow¦¦..

Photos here on Flickr

There is much more info out there for people who would like to build their own wood-fired oven in 2011¦¦¦

Terry

N.b¦¦¦apologies to the OP¦I don't think the link works

Many thanks Danny

I built my own Pompeii-style brick Pizza/Bread oven in summer 2009....

http://www.jamieoliver.com/bloggers/media/p52936.jpg.

My payment/reward is to have other people share their questions with us and in return they share their picture's of the build with us.....all the builds are special, but this one turned out to that little bit special..... http://picasaweb.google.com/115426447285405371194/.....iredOven

All the best for 2011...
