Shereen, my butcher is McMaster's in Whitehead.  Take the first turn into W'head after the Cable Garage (travelling from Belfast).  Take the second turning on the left (Kings Road) and he's on the left hand corner about 300 yds down the road next door to the Post Office with the bakers on the opposite corner.

Thanks Alli! Not sure if we'll be out that way any time soon but I will bear it in mind. I like knowing about good butchers and have been known to "accidentally" stumble across them and buy stuff. Like the last time we were in Moria...

Shereen, in the interests of fair play and consumer rights . . that photo of yer cookie could be any size from a penny (hugely magnified) to the height of a hill in southern Bulgaria or Turkey.

Let's not mention Wayne Rooney's head.

C'mon girl, you have to use the only objective reference that matters:

How may pounds did you put on after eating that specimen? ( and increased hip dimensions!) ???

Never knowingly underfed

Danny, I once went from Glasgow to Oban and back, by train in February.  It snowed while I was in Oban and the return journey was so magical, real Christmas card stuff.  I was so glad I had not taken the car because the roads were terrible but I have never forgotten the atmosphere on the train.  Everyone was in awe of the perfect scenery.

Actually, Danuta, my journey was also in Feb and there was a light dusting of snow too. I think it is one of the glorious, less publicised, railway journeys in this part of the world. Snow or no snow. Scotland is absolutely gorgeous.
Does the night train from Euston to Aberdeen still run? That was on my list of "things to do before I die." I hope it is still running. WellDone

I put a 50 pence piece at the bottom of the pic for scale, but you were obviously hypnotised by the chocolately goodness. Wink

That was G's cookie by the way - I went for the "healthier" oat and raisin version. And then sweated all the calories off ironing, hoovering and cooking on a thundery Sunday. Today's pounds came from the strawberries and ice-cream dessert after dinner Doh

(See how good I was at not mentioning Wayne Rooney's head?)
