New anti-hacking software on our server

One of the good features of our new supplier's offering is a piece of software they install on servers to help prevent hacking attacks.

Typically, a robot system somewhere tries to crack the server's system password continuously. that's why strong passwords are so important - like the ones automatically generated by free sites like this one that we use.

You can Google for:

password generator

I have just received an automated email from this anti-hacking software.

Large Number of Failed Login Attempts from IP 200.98.147.83

5 failed login attempts to account cottagesmallholder (system) -- Large number of attempts from this IP: 200.98.147.83

Reverse DNS: 200-98-147-83.clouduol.com.br

Origin Country: Brazil (BR)

Just mentioning this for interest's sake.

I just realised (again) something about this forum of ours.

Off topic is the natural way of things.

From technical specifications of servers to waxing. Spot the connections.

Danny , not sure if I may have a connection, but seen on a forum recently (and edited - a bit! wink):

Q. So, does anyone know of a way to clean the wax portion off the back of the techspecs?

A. you could try and get some goo-gone and clean off the wax and apply some 3M double sided tape to hold the tech specs down?

Does this answer your question - at all ?

"How do you spell 'Love'?" (Piglet).

"You don't spell it, you feel it" (Pooh).

'A hug,' said Pooh 'is always the right size!'
