I was getting a completely blank page except for adverts, recent articles, recent comments on the blog  and 'on this day in past years'.  I felt bereft!

I'll try that again!

Danny,

I hate this new format¦..sorry to have to say this. I loathe not being able to see everything I have written¦.it would help if we could have a preview before we press the fatal button & it shows up on the forum.  AND as to this long strip of buttons trailing off the sides of the page¦¦¦.HORRIBLE   monstermonstermonstermonstermonstermonster

I am really not a happy forumite !!!!!! I gave up try to battle with it yesterday¦.I had a very hard day, working from 4am until the middle of the afternoon. So to find everything had changed while I had been absent for a few days was hard to understand why I was not seeing my whole post. I am all for change if it is for the better but this is definitely not an improvement, it's a tragedy!! There I have said my piece¦¦ !!  cry

Oops...

Sorry Danny, I don't like it either. I use a netbook so have restricted screen 'real estate' as they say.

Once a line has scrolled off the screen there doesn't appear to be any way to scroll it back other than typing

a new line.

Also the smilie icons disappear off the screen and there is no way to get to the missing ones.

yell  monster  steam But meanwhile the new set up keeps crashing/ turning off my Chrome search engine....it is driving me crazy. It has done it twice in the last few minutes. It looks as if I shall be leaving you all again....driven away by this new arrangement. I was half way through writing a post when it happened last & lost the lot.

Ugh, eeek  angry aargh

Sorry, sorry, sorry, Nadine and everybody.

This layout is just too troublesome and upsetting.

I am about to invest in a better one that should be less controversial.

It may be tomorrow before it is tested and in place.

Thanks for bearing with us on this discombobulating journey.

Let's hope the end result will be worth the hassle.

wave Thanks Danny, for listening to us, As you know we love fiona's blog & this forum & only want the best for it & you & fn.

I had just hopped back to say I was answering Joanna about aiding (or not) emerging chicks at hatching time.....I lost that post too. I should have written it elsewhere & pasted it in; unfortunately I didn't.....cry I will wait till tomorrow to try again. All this will ruin your weekend I suspect.....commiserations & I hope the sun-spots don't get us all.....

Danny, just a thought.....if a more expensive package would provide a nicer/more user friendly site, then I am quite sure that some of us 'regulars' would be more than happy to contribute a few pennies towards it.  Or perhaps a small annual membership fee?  Shoot me down in flames guys if I'm speaking out of turn.

What a kind and generous thought, Sue. Thank you very much. big_hug

However, the cost of the new theme is only £30 and we can pick and choose from loads.

In any case, you people do already contribute. every time you visit or make a post

on the forum, you increase our traffic figures.

That keeps the site relatively high in Google rankings.

Enough to make it attractive for advertisers, which are vital to keep our heads above water.
