I know that BS is one of many for whom characters or whole words are lost at the right hand dide of posts.

We know that pasting in raw links causes problems, as do multiple images in a post.

So please mention any problems here and state your operating system and browser.

I've not had any problems in that area for a while now.  I hope I don't in the future either...

I'll try that again!

I got your PM before I started this thread, BS. It is intended to focus in on any similar problems.

For you, it's the long raw links that throw it out.

Word Press version 3.0 has been released and the matching version of the forum software is also available. That will solve the problem permanently. But we will wait for a few weeks because first versions are always buggy, so 3.1 will be our target for upgrading, whenever that is released.

We are also moving the site to a more powerful server (from VPS to VM for the techies, with 2GB RAM guaranteed) in an attempt to throw more processing power at the forum and blog. Hopefully that will make it run noticeably faster.

If I spot any long raw links, I'll use  my Magic to magically make them smaller.

I'll try that again!

Evening Danny

I get that raw data screen before it settles down...I'm running XP....and the site is really slow to load.  I also have the Advertising screen to the left and I appear to have had that only since the hic-cup.

I know what you mean about Beta versions....sometimes better the devil you know....and I don't mean MOS....Devil   Big_Hug

What do you mean by "that raw data screen", Elsa? I have not heard that reported before.

Sorry, I should have said that when you use the 'Quote' funtion, the screen that first display shows a different font (almost as if Word hasn't kicked in).    I also note that when you go to Quote...there is no highlighting of the previous message...no saying who quoted it and the formatting, italics, bold, etc are missing..

I think I'm using internet explorer 8 (?)

I still can't read pages one and three of Random Photos. I can read 2, 4,5,6,7,8. It seemed to be when TA posted photos and text, the text was partly to the right of the photos and the whole page went funny and I couldn't read it.  But the page with the photo of the roses is fine. Confused Maybe it is the multiple photos in one post that causes the problems for me.

But I can't read the page on How to insert links to other sites, as it is too wide.

I use Firefox, and OS X.

BS - I have fixed the long link problem in "Selling Homemade Goodies"

Barbara - I have added extra line breaks after each image to move the text underneath. Try it again and let me know how it looks now. How to insert links to other online sites and articles.

If it is working, I will do the same to posts in Random Photos.

Danny, thanks for adding the line breaks, but......it still doesn't work. The first line of the How to insert links... page ends   http://www.google.co

and then disappears into the right margin.

Danny, now the http://.google.co.uk is all visible, thanks, but the rest of the post still runs into the right margin.

I have given up even thinking of posting links for the time being Frown.

Barbara/Danny, the link to your blog in the top strap doesn't work, I could only get to the blog by looking up your member details and going from the link there...

I'll try that again!
