Josie - yes, they are all lined, and I do that because the yarn may stretch with a weighty load!

Kate, do try crochet - it is so much quicker than knitting, and if you're a passenger in a car, it is also much easier to transport and pick up at anytime and not so clickety - some people don't like the sound of knitting needles wink . Plus, there is only one stitch on the crochet hook at a time!

Someone with your talents, Kate, will take to it easily!  big_hug

Lovely necklaces Kate.  Shame I never wear them.

BS, love your bags, especially the little green and pink one.

I'll try that again!

For Rae Mond, Kate, and anyone else who fancies trying to crochet - here's a simple cowl/scarf/neckwarmer, or whatever you want to call it.

The pattern is for beginners, and looks fairly easy to do.

(Very probably the ideal thing for this current weather !)

I have just noticed something - in the pattern for the 'mini-snood', it recommends Crochet hook N (10mm). In British crochet, we don't use the letter, only the mm size, which indicates to me that the pattern is in fact an American pattern.

Therefore, when crocheting, the pattern is worked in dc (double crochet in American terminology), but in British patterns, this means a half treble stitch.

In American sizing, their stitch called single crochet (sc) is in fact British double crochet (dc) - all very confusing.

I might have a go at this - it looks as if it may be a quick project.

sorry for any confusions.

I must confess this confused me a bit, I planned to sort of work it out as I was going along. Having it decoded will make it much easier!

No, Kate, don't be confused - just remember that in American parlance a double crochet is actually in English a half treble.

See here for UK stitches.

Isn't that something to do with whisky?
