In recent evenings, I have found that getting back to my stash blanket is lovely and cosy. I manage a couple of rows each evening, it is thick and warm, and now covers my feet! laugh

It is comprised of all colours and all sorts of yarns - although I'm still struggling with chenille - I just find it too difficult to work with! I have just completed two rows with eyelash yarn in pink and lemon - very pretty.

"How do you spell 'Love'?" (Piglet).

"You don't spell it, you feel it" (Pooh).

'A hug,' said Pooh 'is always the right size!'

I hair have throws on the go...one a gift in pink, white and green. The other for me in white, brown, green and orange! Have planned the next one to be multicolored to go in the spare room and use up all my odd bits of wool.

Your gift blanket, Aly, sounds like apple blossom. How big is it?

My stash blanket is quite large, so I'm wondering whether to finish it off now. It is quite heavy, though not big enough to cover a bed, it's more a large lap blanket, but as it's been using stash, lots of it is chunky and novelty yarns, like eyelash and feather yarns, which are difficult to work with - very pretty though! smile

Jan, I don't seem to be able to get pics on here. I do have the pics in Dropbox, but despite following instructions, I don't seem to be able to post them on the forum. Grrr.

While at our quilting group last Friday, one of the girls, a midwife, was asking if anyone would teach her to crochet as she wanted to make a small pram blanket for a new Mum. She has asked before, and I don't think she'll be doing the blanket any time soon, so I offered to make her one.

Just using up some stash, I have some cream acrylic yarn with alpaca, wonderfully soft, so I thought I'd use that as a base colour, adding stripes of pastels.

I had made half the blanket by the time we arrived yesterday. It'd be easy to think that was an easy blanket to make, but for a few months I haven't been able to crochet due to the pain in my hands, so I'm chuffed that (a) I managed to do so much; and (b) my hands were not pained.

Well that is good news Val.  Does that mean that the medication is working properly?

I'll try that again!

I do believe the medication is beginning to work, Toni, although I'm not too sure that I shall have total relief, but so far the signs are good.

Thank you, ladies. big_hug
