Thank you ladies - yes, I'm hopeful that I can do more, although sometimes the pain re-surfaces and reminds me not to do certain things. Sometimes though, it is simple things - last night I put a mug in the dishwasher, and must've twisted my hand in such a way that ... well, I'll say "Ouch!".

My little baby blanket is finished. I shall send a photo to Sue, and see if she can post it on here for me!

For Aly and Sue, and any other crocheters, isn't this shawlette beautiful, and it doesn't look too difficult. ok

Yes it does look pretty but will have to finish the other things I have started first! I keep finding patterns I like and am finally knitting a cardigan I found on Pinterest.

The shawlette is pretty.....not the sort of thing I'd wear, I have enough hot flushes without having woolly things around my neck  whistle  the very thought of it brings me out in a sweat  big_laugh

My mum would probably like it though.

What about in the winter, Sue? Sometimes when there's a chill wind (hard to imagine at the moment!), it's comforting to keep your neck warm!  laugh

I do wear scarves when going out in the winter, Val, but even then I have them hanging loose.  I never did like anything tight around my neck, even before the hot flushes!

What is it about hot flushes - why us girls - and why do they last so many years, too?

I'm currently making a baby blanket for husband's first great grandchild, a little girl, due in February, I should finish it within the next week.  I also have a lap throw on the go, it's a gift for a friend who feels the cold....hopefully I'll finish that before winter is over!  whistle

I bought some lovely yarn when we were away last week, enough to make another 2 or 3 baby blankets or throws, plus some hats with the loom knitting kit I also bought.

Yesterday, I read that Lucy of Attic24 is going to start another CAL blanket in January, she's calling it her Moorland blanket and has the yarn pack, in gorgeous heather/green/blue shades, available at Wool Warehouse.  I do like Lucy's designs, she gives incredibly detailed instructions with loads of photos for beginners, and her designs always work - I've made several blankets/throws of hers, and a bag.  So I've today ordered her Moorland pack and look forward to starting the CAL in January.

I have also ordered it Sue. It will be a new pattern for me but I have several of her throws now I have made in different colours. I love the colour pallete of this one!

It's beautiful isn't it Aly?  She's so incredibly talented and has such a wonderful eye for colour.  I'm really looking forward to starting it in January.

Me too. The colours are stunning and I love the way she has put it together. Showed it to P.....'where is that going then?' He doesn't get it! I really enjoy these projects. I have my eye on a bag in Lucys blog but that will have to wait until next month as no more wool money this month!

Yes, I follow Lucy, too. I have made a few things from her site - including a mandala, seen at Yarndale on the wall. Good luck with your CAL both of you. ok
