I found this free pattern for an interestingly shaped bag.........HERE 

It's called a windmill bag & you can see a more colourful version if you scroll down to it on this page. I also love the woven crochet bag to the left of it.  laugh

 

This site seems to be packed full of crochet, knitting & sewing projects.

Hattie, crocheting seems to work quicker when stripes are involved (well, for me, certainly), so yes, it would definitely make up quickly for me !

(However, I already have a lot of bags ready-made, and would prefer to sell for our Rotary charity)
