I have been invited to a three year olds birthday party on Friday and the weather tomorrow is supposed to be wet so I thought I woould spend the time productively and make a puppet. I have one pattern I could use but I was looking for some more inspiration. Does anyone know of any good sites with downloadable patterns?whistle

Just had a look through and there is a really nice crochet dinasaur puppet and I think I might use that idea to adapt the one I have to make a sewable puppet - I think that will be quicker since it has to be ready by tomorrow evening doh

My friendly dragon may end up a fish, not sure yet. Will see what it looks like with eyes on tomorrow, just need to buy some felt. At least I feel like it was a good afternoon's work. Photos will have to wait until Monday when my blog is done and then I can link a photo from there. cheers

Joanna, did you crochet or sew the dragon/fish?

Sewed it. I used a sewing pattern from an oven glove crocodile and the inspiration from a cute crocheted dragon whistle

wave  Brilliant Joanna, such lovely bright colours.  I like the way he looks quite bashful at times.  Glad you had a good time.

I certainly enjoyed making something and using my quilting stitches on the machine. I was quite pleased with the result too. The little laddie was not as impressed, but I thought that might be the case but there was no way I was going to manage to design and make a puppet tractor in an afternoon even if he is tractor mad. His mum who is a nursery teacher loved it and I bet she gets the most use out of it. wink

Very good Joanna - and very inventive - as Danuta says, it has a lovely expression!
