Yes, he is a beauty. I never quite know where to put his horns when I am shearing. He is very good natured but very strong. At one point he was starting to be a bit of a bully so I had to topple him now and again to show who was the Alphe (fe)male

Hi Folks.  Can I join in this thread, and resurrect it?  It's been good to read your spinning posts Renee.  I've seen pics of Blacker before.....

I also spin, knit, sometimes felt and am beginning to weave.  I keep my own sheep - many of which look a lot like Blacker, although I don't think they are the same breed.  Mine are Ancient Type Hebrideans, and I also have Shetlands and the single remnant of my previous Soay flock.  A while ago I did various breeding experiments to see what spinning fleeces I could get, and I had some wonderful fleece animals there.  Unfortunately circumstances meant I had to get rid of them all suddenly, so now I stick to my small group of Primitives.

I know I will not manage to put pics on here - I'm hopeless I know - but if you would like to see them, have a look at my website: http://www.scothebs.co.uk.  I hope it's ok to post that on here?

My spinning is of the 'lets spin this fleece quickly to make a work jumper/hat/socks' variety.  I'm never trying to reach a state of spinning perfection, it's just not me.  Spinning can become addictive, but I only spin, and knit, when I have something specific to produce.  I love to dye my yarns and am trying to convert from acid dyes to natural plant dyes from the garden.

ps there are some great icons on here, but no spinning, knitting, weaving ones.........
