Yesterday a fallen limb had caused the garden door to be snapped and the whole flock got in was grazing on my veg garden, They flattened much of it, ate all the tender greens - the lettuce, kale, turnips, beets, dug up the tiny carrots - dug up big areas - the soil is so fluffy and has worms and grubs. They ate parts of peppers and flattened the onions.
They do this a couple times a year - bad chickens. It is so hard to never have a laps in the fence because they will exploit any weakness.
