Great news, Aly  laugh ok.....let's hope all the others pull through. They say the birds as yet unhatched are encouraged by the the peeping of the ones already hatched. How exciting for you & the family visiting today. It will be great for yourgrandsons in the years to come......visiting Granny's Petting Zoo......laughwink

Duckling is now in the brooder making lots of noise! Nothing else happening. I am sure at least one has died in the shell as there is a big hole in it but no movement detected for some time. The other 3 have cracks but no further progress. Will wait to see what morning brings.

Another hatched just now but it has a crooked leg and is not looking too good. The 4th is having trouble getting out so I think maybe they will not make it. I have 2 healthy and happy ones in the brooder which I am grateful for. I don't think I will try incubating anything else for a while.

4 ducklings in brooder. I helped the last one out by wetting the shell and picking bits off so it could get it's head out. This morning it finally managed to push out of the egg. It looks quite small but is not fully fluffed up yet. All are happy together and the stronger two are pecking off the bits of shell from the youngest. The one born yesterday with a curled foot has straightened it and I hope will be fine.
All quite an experience! I will be happy once all are eating and drinking well.

So pleased for you & the ducklings, Aly. Hatching time is always full of doubts & joy, let alone huge relief when it they come out OK.

Bigger ducklings just had first swim in the pond and loved diving and racing up and down. All managed to get out and are tucked up in the run again. The big ducks had a look but were not bothered although special Bob, my one eyed Drake, swam with them for a while.

Just gave the little ones a swim in a big bowl, they are now drying off under the lamp.
