So did I TA, the place wasn't the same without them, I really did miss them. It will take a few weeks for Jessie to get used to them, before I can feel safe that she isn't on the hunt for a meal from one of them, but for the time being we are going to keep them enclosed anyway as there is evidence of fox activity in the vicinity.
I went and checked on them about 8.15 and they had all put themselves to bed, locked them in and will need to be up early to let them out into the enclosed area.

wave Congratulations on the new flock, Jan......sounds as if you got a bargain at the auction sale.  I hope you can keep the foxes away from them in their new pen. Glad you got an egg on day one....many more to come !!  big_hug

Another Leghorn egg today, nothing from the bluebells yet, but they aren't as prolific layers as the leghorns, so not worried YET.

Jan, we used to have chickens when I was young - and I'd love to have some now - sadly our lifestyle of travelling to and fro France isn't conducive to keeping animals. I have to make do with the wild things!

Hope all goes well, and their coop is sturdy enough to keep out any intruders!
