Just finished my bit of the painting (husband does all the fiddly edges/skirting board etc with a paintbrush, I do the big bits in the middle with a roller), so stopped for a breather and ice cold glass of water.

Does anyone watch Wimbledon?  I used to love the tennis.....well, Wimbledon anyway......but hardly watch it now.  It's become so boring I think - it's all about massive serves and aces for the blokes, with not many rallies.  And some of the women grunt so loudly and unattractively!

Back in the days of people like John McEnroe, Jimmy Connors, Andre Agassi, Martina Navratilova, Sue Barker, Pat Cash, Bjorn Borg, tennis was actually exciting to watch.  I particularly used to like Ilie Nastase, he was such a comedian.....Goran Ivanisovic used to get so het up and shout a lot in his native language (Yugoslavian or Croatian I think) and people used to ring and complain he was swearing!  McEnroe's outbursts were just so entertaining, even if they were aimed at the poor umpire.

I didn't like Tim Henman's habit of spitting all the time (disgusting habit) and just can't warm to Andy Murray - he scowls so much!

Not me, I can't stand the boring game and I get cross that the players earn obscene amounts of money just for playing a game.

I'll try that again!

waveWimbledon always makes me think of my Mum.  She absolutely adored it.  Everything had to be done before it came on the TV and we were lucky if we got fed until it went off air. big_laugh  She used to sit and do her knitting when it was  Lovely memories, but I can't say I am an enthusiast!  I too sometimes find it a bit boring!

My mum used to adore Wimbledon as well. I agree the modern game is all about Aces and short almost non existent  rallies, and I to cannot stand the grunting or the high pitched squeals from some players.

Are we having fun yet? I am!
