Danny and TA, if you don't think this is a good idea, go ahead and delete....
Hi Everyone,
I have been thinking since "The Danast Incident", (when she lost her internet and wasn't heard from for 3 or 4 days) that maybe we should have a thread where if someone knew that they were going to drop off the radar for a little while they could leave a note.
Point being, the message wouldn't get lost in the other threads, and the rest of us wouldn't worry because of an absence.
So, please feel free......
If you can't be a shining example, be a terrible warning!
I like the idea but then realised that perhaps on an open forum it is not so good. Probably better to PM someone.I know I might be out of circulation for up to two months at the end of the month. But I may drop in from time to time, you never know
I suppose that what it does remind us that where we might just PM Danny no one else might know so maybe Danny could pass on the message to all forumites so there isn't the worry of where someone is. Does that make sense?
That is a very good idea, Michelle. Thank you very much for suggesting it. It should avoid unnecessary angst for um as watch for regular posters, although Danuta's Internet outage was both unpredictable and was a sort of test case, in hindsight.
TA is right " sometimes I am unable to join the forum for days on end so best to PM her and me if you will be away for a while.
Or call me on +44 (0)7961 850 809 if your Internet connection is down or some other incident prevents you from being online.
Else you might have a burly police ossifer knocking on your door (unless, of course, that is you preferred option!)
Never knowingly underfed
Well, I obviously did something wrong!!!! All I got was a policeWOMAN
phoning me to check I was still alive. She couldn't even find my house.
Seriously, though, we do notice when people are not posting. I often think of Mutley and wonder if he is all right. Thanks for the phone number Danny. I have copied it onto my desktop in case it is needed. Please do the same soon everyone. It is too late if your internet goes down as mine did.
I know I caused a lot of concern when I disappeared from the Forum and although I was oblivious to it all, reading the posts when I did get back was both worrying and heartwarming to know people cared. We do care about each other here, so if you are going away or you know you may not be able to post, please let us know through Danny or TA.
Thanks Michelle for highlighting this again although I'm not sure I want to be known for "the Danast Incident"

Yes, me too. Hopefully he is just busy and not had a lot of free time. Does anybody know how to contact him?

Sorry Danuta!

I suspect that Mutley has no internet connection since he has not updated here, on Facebook or his web-site since September at the latest. I sent a note by Royal Mail, but have had no response (the address I found might not be his BTW, just someone with a similar name in the same area). I just hope that he and Jade are managing to eat well and stay warm.
I'll try that again!
