good luck with your future Danny whichever path you take. Sue experience counts for nothing these days my OH had to go university and do a degree at the age of 49 to get a bit of paper just to say he could do the job he had been doing for the past 22yrs in the RAF.

Whisper it – I may have a job/contract very soon. It’s the hoary old one in Hatfield that I was supposed to join almost 12 months ago. It finally kicked off in March without me but it has not really moved on at all and the project manager that the end client insisted on instead of me has walked off the job. Haha. tongue

So I got a call yesterday and again today. I don’t have a contract in my hand just yet but I rate it as 90% there. Or I would if it were not for the history with this particular client. They have a reputation in the industry for shoddy internal organisation and basic mismanagement. So anything could happen. Therefore I live in hope rather than expectation. cool

Fingers crossed... that sounds very promising.

I'm job hunting at the moment and it's really frustrating to get phone calls from agencies then nothing happens...

Thanks all - will be watching for your "hex effex", Elsa. big_hug

Interview on phone 5pm Mon. That's my 4th with them.

I agree, Mike. It seems par for the course to have a 20 minute convo with an excited agency person and then . . nothing. Cynicism sets in early aargh

Hope you get your job Danny, firms these days just don't have any scruples, I remember when OH was looking he was giving a job and was only there for a couple of months it turned out they had used him to get something done and then finished him, luckily he had not turned anything else down at the time to take it.

Happily, I am now working full time - for the next few months at least and longer if things work out.

I hooked up with a wealthy businessman who is originally from London but now lives in the far east. He has several businesses on the go but also has a pet project that he has been trying to get off the ground for the past two years. The task is to help him build a new onilne business from scratch. Without doubt it has great potential but to make it successful is a different kettle of fish.

I am up against delivery deadlines and need help. This is what I posted on Facebook earlier:

I’ve been working flat out on a project for the past few weeks and need help. Looking for someone with smarts, or more than one person, to help with research.
You would probably be interested in business in general, know what an IPO is and have access to a computer with MS Word. The work involves researching famous entrepreneurs, their personal and business history and typing summary details into a template in Word. If you like writing that is probably a bonus.
Message me if interested. Thanks.
