As I have mentioned before, I love History, and will watch anything to do with it. I had been looking forward to this Programme since it was advertised, and I was not disappointed, it was about one of the wonders of the Ancient World, The Hanging Gardens Of Babylon. Stephanie Dalley, an Oxford, Academic, believed , as it has never been found, although there were plenty of references to it,that the supposed place and timing were wrong, and she went on to prove her theory, that the actual place was Ninevah, in Iraq. The feat of Engineering to carry water so far over the Desert, then to raise it up to water Trees, Shrubs, and Flowers, beyond belief, but everything was there, if you knew what you were looking for.
Has anyone been watching the programmes on cold war Britain, it was good tonight. They had the Berlin wall coming down, I was living in west Berlin when the wall came down, they said the first thing the east berliners did was go shopping, what they did not say was that an awful lot of it was shop lifting. The shops let them off with it that first weekend but not the 2nd
Never give up Tomorrow is another day.
Having lived through it, Eileen, did not feel inclined to watch . A very Knife edge time, indeed. It must have been amazing for you, actually witnessing History, first hand. Best thing about the Services, not so much now, was the chance to see and do, things you never would have been able to in Civvy Street. I should write a Book, I could write a Book, but dare not write a Book! Well, could write it, but not tell the truth.
I have been watching the most wonderful film about dolphins on the BBC iplayer. If you have missed it I urge you to watch it as it is entrancing. I am looking forward to the next episode.

Tonight is all UK shows on PBS (public broadcasting service). Starts with "Father Brown", followed by "Scott & Bailey" and finally the late show "Inspector Morse". Tomorrow is "Downton Abbey" - can't wait!
Right now I am watching the Olympics from Sochi - it's an American channel so the focus is all on the American athletes, but interesting nevertheless.
