Hope you have a wonderful day...
Who lives long sees much : The diary of my life in Bulgaria
Thanks, everyone - you lovely people!
Had planned to go out for a nice lunch, when I had a phone call from my bro, who is currently looking after Mother. An hour later, it was a bit too late .....
Not to worry, I have made some chocolate fairy cakes, and while they were baking I mixed up a strong tangerine jelly and in one very thin layer, let it set.
When cakes had cooled, I put a small piece of the tangerine jelly on top, and then covered with a rich chocolate. Tah - dah - my very own 'Jaffa' cakes!
Just about to have a cuppa with a cake .
Oops, so sorry I missed it .....hope you HAD a lovely birthday, Val . And your own homemade birthday Jaffa cakes sound gorgeous!! (will have to try that for husband, he loves Jaffa cakes).
(my sis arrived yesterday for a hastily-arranged stay for a few days, so I was a bit preoccupied, sorry)
learning to love veg…..except celery :-O
Happy birthday Val, it sounds like you had a great time making Jaffa cakes.
My Mum said that if I had been born a day earlier I would have been called Elizabeth after the Queen (and my godmother) and a day later I would have been Georgina as in St. George's day. Thank goodness I was born on the 22nd of April, I quite like the name Joanna.
Joanna is a very nice name, but so too are Elizabeth and Georgina - they would all be very acceptable choices.
But some of the recent made up names that we are coming across now - we've had Taya, Kyah, Tegan, Pagan - all girls; and some of the boys - Talon, Keaton (sounds like someone enjoys old films ..), Xander - all sound a little bit 'made up'.
Oh well, perhaps I'm just being a grumpy ole git!
