I have just had a phone message from Nadine to say that her phone router blew up this evening. She does not think there will be a replacement for at least three days, so we have not to worry as to why she is not online.
I shall phone her in the morning and give you an update. Poor Hattie will be lost without news of us all. And we will miss her too.

Oh no, poor Nadine! I bet she will be lost without the internet (and this forum), I know I have been in the past when it's happened to me for one reason or another, it's like one of my arms has been cut off (sad or what ).
Please tell her I'll be sending telepathic good messages to her, Danuta, just in case she doesn't pick them up! And thank you for letting us know

You have beaten me to it Danuta! I spoke with Nadine just a few minutes ago, as you say she is hopeful that she will have her new router before the end of the week. I must say that, sad as it is that she won't be with us for a while, it was lovely to speak to her. We were bemoaning the fact that Buckinghamshire is such a difficult county to navigate, especially by public transport.
I'll try that again!

Ha-ha !! I'm back ! It's been hell without you all but the nice man from Tiscali / TalkTalk was true to his word & the new router arrived this morning (& it was easy to install , as he also promised).
It was terrible when suddenly the router stopped working on Monday evening & I called "customer help" (a misnomer if ever there was one) as I had nearly an hour of being sent from one call centre to another round India where having asked the same questions & checked my identity they told me they didn't deal with that problem & sent me on my way again. All this wasn't helped by the lines to India having terrible hissing sounds on them which distorted speech.
Finally I had a brainwave & said to the next maddening man that I was so fed up with the non-service I was experiencing that I wanted to change my internet provider.......that did it....I was suddenly put through to the UK & a very charming Irishman who sorted everything out. Apparently there is a special number (which I now have) for Tiscali subscribers who have problems since Tiscali was taken over by TalkTalk.
So here I am again & I can settle down to read what has happened while I've been away.
