No-one has anything to say...
I had a decent lunch today, three chicken tenders (the little bits inside a breast) on skewers with attendant salad, which was perfectly fresh and dressed. A glass of decent Shiraz and the company of my lovely man made a very pleasant afternoon.
He buggered off to have dinner with his business partner tonight so I ate alone (do not ask) and had to watch TV ! I saw the baking programme (Mary Berry) and a new, to me, New Tricks, then I got bored and came into the studio. What have you all been up to?
I'll try that again!
Hmm, thinking back as far as yesterday is a bit of a stretch
We had lamb pasties with veggies from our garden for lunch. I prepped and froze more carrots, and put together a beef stew.....gave it about 5 hours in the slow cooker yesterday evening, just put it back on again now (it's for lunch today and tomorrow). Put a load of washing on the airer in front of the Rayburn. Watched the film version of Les Miserables (with the sexy-voiced Liam Neeson) whilst crocheting a few more rows of my blanket. Had cheese & biscuits for supper. Watched New Tricks. Prepped and froze more apples (oh, that was earlier, along with the carrots ).
Think that's it....went to bed about 11 ish (early for me).
learning to love veg…..except celery :-O
Hmmm!! What do you think?................................Knitted, of course..............another pair of socks, while planning in my head a design for a knitted cardi-cum-wrap-cum-poncho garment. Years ago I made one out a knitted fabric; I am still wearing it but it is showing it's age. So I thought it was time for a new version. I think it will be quite colourful as that cheers me up on grey days.
I had lovely lamb & mint sausages (courtesy of Ocado, who are now stocking some of Laverstock Parks Organic meat). They are so tasty. I had them with grilled Med. veggies. They are quite pricy but well worth the money as the taste is so good. Ocado has them on an introductory offer at the moment so I am ordering more to put in the freezer.

Made a repair to the Caravan door to the wash basin area, went in to nearest large town to take some old VHS tapes in to be converted to DVD's (then we can get rid of the old VHS recorder) and tried to get some info on a portable satellite system I bought second hand to see if it would pick up the freesat channels if I got the dish pointed to the correct satellite- the assistant in the shop could book me an installation, but had absolutely no knowledge of how things worked- the youth of today eh! So I connected the reciever up to the home dish and some of the freesat channels appeared- I may need to run a rescan as it was last used some 5 or more years ago according to the guy I got it from. It rianed a lot yesterday afternoon, so curtailed the activities ouyside, but I did get my fitness studio induction at the gym later in the day, so now I can use the equipment (cross trainers, etc) to get a bit stronger in the muscles that look sadly small now I have lost weight.
Are we having fun yet? I am!
Fired up the Esse and made a tray bake to keep us going over the next week. Spoke to our dog trainer and have agreed to adopt another puppy. Bit different from Bruno, he is a 3 month Yorkie. He will be called Gus. Then spent time on Zooplus website and ordered all the things he will need.
Whilst on the internet did another search for Smart cars and finally found what seems to be the perfect one, diesel and left hand drive. Phoned the owner and have arranged for brother in law to look at it today. If he agrees it is a good one he will buy it and drive it back to his house. Once we know all is ok we will arrange collection. OH very much needs a break from the work.
Gus is staying with the trainer for now as he was abused and she will sort out any problems. If we go for the car we will leave Bruno with her too which will be a good chance for them to get to know each other.
Cooked dinner, took Bruno for a walk then watched a new house building programme. I think this causes more depression as these people always have pots of money and pay the trades to do the work. It is very different doing all the work yourself.
Rained all day so washing dried on rack next to Esse.
Hope all went well. Started the day with a migraine and still feeling rough so lounging around. OH is out helping set up the fete in our village.
Managed to get washing on the line so not an entirely wasted day.
Hope it doesn't need surgery. Uncomfortable though.
Took Bruno for a run in my Smart car. He loved it!
I had a good laugh this morning, my Carer, came in, and said she was really fed up, as she had got a £60 parking fine. It appears that she was parked outside the Church, whilst attending the Service. She had not attended Church for some time, and as she put a fiver in the Collection Plate, she thought I really should have put more. Then went outside and found the Sticker on her Car, a slap on the Wrist from God! Maybe?.
The 'boys' are away to visit relatives, after leaving here they went to my daughter's for Breakfast, then on to their Hotel, visiting again, and this evening having dinner with my Brother in his Caravan. Tomorrow is the big Match they are up for, they are taking Louis, my Grandson, who is eight, he is so excited, they have bought him a Rovers Shirt, daughter said , when they left, he shouted, " See you at the Big Match!"
Anybody watching Strictly Come Dancing? I always do, I love it. Dave (Hairy Biker) Myers is rubbish at dancing, but his Paso Doble to Meatloaf's Anything for Love tonight was screamingly funny, I was almost crying with laughter.....in a good way, it was such fun to watch. I hope he stays in a few more weeks. As for the rugby player Ben Cohen (he used to play on the wing for our local team Northampton Saints when we lived up there).......wow. Just wow!
