Thought I had better add this, as have so much to add about my Garden. My big News, is , at last have managed to grow a Himalayan Poppy, tried for the last couple of Years, but nothing, true what they say, never give up. Have as wide a range of Veggies as I have room for, so starting with Radish, Lettuce, Spring Onion, Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Courgette, Beans, and Peas. Fruit, have Strawberries, Raspberries, Gooseberries, Blueberries, and Apples, eating, and cooking, forgot Rhubarb!
At the moment, am eating Radish, Lettuce thinnings, and Rhubarb, so that is a start. Better make a start myself. Happy growing !
What a lot you have growing, Tina! We're quite behind with our veg growing this year (luckily, the fruit more or less takes care of itself), due to various ongoing problems. Hopefully, it will all catch up in due course.
One new thing we're growing this year for the first time is asparagus, which I love....well, it's growing fine but we won't be able to harvest any this year, you're supposed to leave it for a year or two.
learning to love veg…..except celery :-O
Despite the dodgy Weather we have had in Scottieland, this year, have had a massive Harvest. My Carrots have been Whoppers, so proud of them, would enter them in a Show if I could. Red Onions, likewise, still loads to pick, the Cupboards are filling up with Chutney, and am, not even started on the Plums and Apples, at least am getting a short breathing Space. Bean out to water and feed my Tomatoes, and Cucumbers, but a nasty cold Wind has sprung up, so did not stay longer than I needed.
Have battened down the Hatches for the Winter, going to be a lot of changes next Summer, as we have had according to the Weather Pundits, the second wettest Summer on Record. Paving over One Bed, next to the Maple Tree, as despite the beautiful Flowers, not been able to enoy them, as the constant Rain, has made them too leggy, and overgrown, and cannot deal with the Weeds, as, soon as you start work, it starts to rain.
Vegetables have done better, even had, and still have a good crop of Cucumbers, but my Tomatoes are still Green. I am looking forward to Green Tomato Chutney, but would have liked a few red ones. Good , that my Daughter can keep me supplied for a couple of Weeks more.
