An elderly Chinese woman had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a pole which she carried across her neck.
One of the pots had a crack in it while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water.
At the end of the long walks from the stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full.
For a full two years this went on daily, with the woman bringing home only one and a half pots of water.
Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments.
But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it could only do half of what it had been made to do.
After two years of what it perceived to be bitter failure, it spoke to the woman one day by the stream.
'I am ashamed of myself, because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your house.'
The old woman smiled, 'Did you notice that there are flowers on your side of the path, but not on the other pot's side?'
'That's because I have always known about your flaw, so I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back, you water them.'
For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate the table.
Without you being just the way you are, there would not be this beauty to grace the house.'
Each of us has our own unique flaw. But it's the cracks and flaws we each have that make our lives together so very interesting and rewarding.
You've just got to take each person for what they are and look for the good in them.
SO, to all of my cracked pot friends, have a great day and remember to smell the flowers on your side of the path!

Oh you soppy old thing you

Less of the old.....I know it....I just don't acknowledge it...OK...
So last time I was with my children we talked about a 'Living Will'...
We were sitting in the sitting room and I said to them ' I never want to live in a vegitative state, dependent on some machine and fluids from a bottle.' If that ever happens just pull the plug'.
They got up, unplugged my computer and threw out my wine......Bas***ds....

Just so you all know, there has been a bit of cracking of the pots in this household. Or to be more exact, Seth has been having a bit of trouble.
His dongle and his laptop stopped talking to one another. Shut up, I'm not using euphemisms: just, speaking electronically, he has lost his voice. So that is why you can get away with all sorts of silly remarks, and not a snide comeback to be had!
We are now in a funny sort of state, with him trying to get to grips with the new computer which doesn't seem to want to talk to t'internet yet, and also waiting on the powers that be to get us hooked up to something a little faster than a laddie with a pair of running shoes.
When that is all done, rest assured that no opportunity for rudery and quips will be left unremarked.
Meanwhile, he is going to the greenhouse to sulk.
Shut up, I'm counting
A dongle looks a bit like a large memory stick and you can use them to connect to the internet anywhere that can get a signal for a mobile . I've used a dongle too a few times

When I had problems connecting using a dongle....mine worked after I took out and replaced the SIM card. Just a thought. It doesn't only happen to me you know..... a bit like rebooting it.
