Er " is anyone else starting that Christmas panic feeling yet? Ever since the weekend I've been meaning to get my cards written and posted " not done yet and it's now Thursday. I've ordered some pressies " none have arrived yet although they've all been sent apparently - one on the 9th!! Eeek " where's all my things?
Have managed to get the 'tree' (branches in a pot) decorated with the help of the Chap and the hindrance of Zeke-who-pretends-he's-a-6-month-old-kitten-but-is-in-fact-humongous-already. He likes the sparkly things but so far, amazingly, I haven't come home to it all over the floor! I'm very concious that I'm fast running out of time. I'm also supposed to be finalising what we're eating this year and some of it's all still a bit nebulous. Argh!!! Where's MOS " I need a week too please!!
Someone tell me it's not just me and there's others equally as badly organised amongst us?
I am also starting to freak out a little. having started preparing in July (!) at a leisurely pace I've still left most of it til now, partly because the edible stuff couldn't be made too far in advance. And this week I've had off to get stuff done had flown past in a blur of being a bit poorly. I still have much to do,including two samplers to mount and frame and mince pies to bake and truffles, I might give upon the fudge...
And I still feel crappety poop.
HALP!
Intolerance will not be tolerated.
Aw... Hope you're feeling better soon. Chap is muchos ill so I'm hoping I don't go down with it for the weekend! Help help!!
I'm not panicking at all. Cards have all been sent, presents ordered, delivered and wrapped food all under control. Even if it wasn't, the good old Co-op will be open from 10.00 am to 10.00 pm on Christmas day, bless them. I expect the Asian and Oriental shops will be open too.
I'll try that again!
Ruth, let go of it. (We need a massage smiley! )
If your presents don't get there in time, print off a copy of what you ordered, stick it in a box, and tell your recipient you will deliver the present when it gets to your house. I know I'd understand.
Do you need food suggestions? Where's Shereen and Bright Spark, they are good at suggesting dishes!
Deep breath Girl!
If you can't be a shining example, be a terrible warning!
if you arnt panicking you dont understand the gravety of the situation
what if you run out of tea bags !!!! or polo mints or!!!! gellied eeeellls CRICKEY its worse than i thaught what if there is a rush on gellied eeellls ?????? then there is the pannick buying last time i only got 4cwt of brillo pads and a copy of wuthering heights !!! and the snow was almost covering the grass !!............. ime going now before its tttttoooooo late
sit down with a cupa and the urge will subside
Me? I'm not panicking.... I made mince pies today, and gluten free ones. Cards all posted. Need to do a check for ingredients then I'll probably order a delivery for next week rather than brave the crush in asda with T worrying about getting lost in the crowd.
I sound quite organised don't I?
Thats because I haven't told you about the two toy boxes in the spare room that need another coat of paint and names putting on them, the pile of pressies that need wrapping, my complete indecision about what to give my (recently separated from my son) daughter in law (whats the etiquette for that situation???? ) and the fact that I still don't know how many I'm cooking for on christmas day and whether we'll be invited out anywhere else for meals over the holiday.
Gluten free christmas cake baking tomorrow, and sweets for gifts. Greenery to cut so I can get decorating the house at the weekend. My big family meal will be tuesday, after that I can relax while everyone else is still panicking!
Never assume anything - except an occasional air of intelligence.

Awww, thats too bad Ruth. I'm not sure etiquette helps here, I think its where your heart is.
Was it mutuial? People say that, but who knows how true it is.
Do you love her? If you still care about her, I think a present and a note saying you'll be there if she needs you would be really great of you.
Did you tolerate her? If you don't care for her, just quietly letting go is probably the best way.
Oh my goodness, did they have kids? That changes everything if they did¦.
If you can't be a shining example, be a terrible warning!
