Great blog -at the last school I went to  we used to get our food on the table in different sized containers brought from a hatchway in the dining room- the head of the table (usually a sixth former) was responsible for portioning out the meals to everyone- which meant that the portions could vary a bit- especially if you were the littlest one on the table! But it was well cooked and varied food.

Many years later, I went back for a re-union meal there- exactly the same system was applied- very nostalgic.

The school is no more- it is now a retirement home - the main building is still there, but the other buildings around it were demolished and re-built.

Are we having fun yet? I am!

Just found out my school is now a specialist design and technology place and looked nothing like this in my day, but I gather the 1950s blocks are still in existence but funnily enough there doesn't seem to be any pictures of those.

This is my old school, it is still going strong. It was a Grammar school in those days. I hope the school dinners are better than in my day. I refused to eat them & used to take the tube back home for mine. There & back in an hour¦¦no wonder I was stressed¦¦..!! eeek
