Well, I wasn't feeling great about my size after Xmas but today in Leclerc took the biscuit!
I was waiting in line when the cashier suddenly asked me if I would like to jump the queue....confused I politely refused and then became aware of sniggering all around me. A few more confused moments later I realised why; I was in the 'prioritaire' queue, where elderly and PREGNANT women can move to the front!!!!!!! I nearly died
I managed to keep my head high and pay for my shopping assuring the cashier that c'etait rien' , but maybe,I feel, a diet is in order for the new year
I think the cashier established I don't need a cushion!!!
I like Toulouse at the moment; it has all the facilities I need (I live in the outer burbs near to shops but also beside open countryside)
It also has a good section britannique for my daughter, where she has lessons in english at uk level , plus the usual french ones. Lastly it is very central for the pyrennees, the mediterranean and the atlantic.
However, if it was just me, retired; so no need for work etc I would live in the region just south of toulouse and west of Foix called Ariege; nicely rural and very picturesque!
Hope this helps: if you are looking seriously, more questions can be answered at http://www.britishexpats.com

Oh we sorted that one, we moved and left them, they couldn't keep up. Mind you the youngest turned 20 this Christmas so definitely should be out of the house by then anyway. I bought skis yesterday and I have a month before I start my studies again to try and get some weight off, we do have a cross country ski track at the top of our road and we have plenty of snow now, so no excuses I guess
