This is not intended as a post to get "me too" comments, but I love it when
1 - Right now there are 7 registered members online - that feels like we are in genuine contact. I would guess that by next Christmas, we will look back and laugh when we have 20 or more online at the same time.
2 - The willingness of everybody to offer advice based on experience - that is so valuable.
3 - Fun and laughter - I adore the craic, the wind-ups, and Mutley's lovely/crazy Photoshop images.
I could go on (possibly) but let's leave it at that.
Thank you all so very, very much.
Never knowingly underfed
This is not meant to be either mushy, crawling or patronising, but we do like it when you can manage to join us when your busy schedule allows it. It really does make a difference. Thank you Danny and Fiona for making it possible for us all to have met.
Old teachers never die, they just lose their class
I agree totally with Danuta's statement: if you and Fiona had not started this forum, my life would be poorer, so thank you both from the bottom of my heart. I have met so many wonderful people here and I thank them for their humour, knowledge and encouragement. Love to everyone!
I'll try that again!
Thank you very much for those lovely compliments, Danuta, TA and BS.
Well, we feel the very same backatya. We feel very lucky indeed to have attracted a really great core of contributors.
Fiona is unable to visit here very often, although she does check out some posts every day. It's just that her ailment means that she has to allocate her limited time to the most productive activities. We do hope that you understand, and we also hope that in time, she will be able to visit more on this forum.
Never knowingly underfed
Oops I was writing my post at the same time as you Danny. You know we feel we are in touch with Fiona every day though the blog. I look forward to it and enjoy the comments and follow the links of previous years and the ones below. So Fiona should be proud of all she does and we all send her these.

Danast: Come over to the dark side..............we have cookies!*
I love the things Dannys suggested plus....
I love that the photos that Fiona selects (always cheer me up), as do her posts frequently.
One of the other benefits is that I feel connected to rural life in England - a world I grew up in where the veggies were fresh out of the ground and the people were "good spuds" 🙂
The recipe/foodie posts have also inspired me to start learning how to cook - primarily healthy, traditional dishes that I miss from home (all be it mostly vegetarianised - gah).
to all the regulars who now feel like friends.
* From a black grocery bag that a friend gave me , although I carry around quilting stuff in it (it's a nice contrast to all the floral cutesiness in that arena *shudder*).
Life is uncertain ………… eat dessert first!
