There's too much gloominess going on (weather, poor crops, ill health, not to mention wars, murders etc), so we need to focus on the good things......there must be something, at least one thing, each day that makes us smile and gives us a nice warm feeling. So come on, share it - we all want a smile!
And Danuta is just bursting to tell us something......aren't you?

Oooo...... Big build up there Sue, but actually something very small. This morning as of every morning right now, it is lovely to go into the dining room which has become the room the pups live in and see their darling little faces and wiggly waggly tails welcoming me and greeting the day. They are so cute now and desperate to be out of the box. Me, I am desperate to keep them in as long as possible. But they make me smile every time I see them.
And oh the smell of puppy breath is wonderful. If I could bottle it, I would.
Although Shuna still feeds them, they are now getting some solids and are loving getting themselves in a mess, climbing in and out of the dish. I think they feed more licking each other after the meal!!!
I think I may have homes for four of them already with others possible. I believe two of them will be going to Italy!!
Old teachers never die, they just lose their class
Ooh, international puppies! Would you please take a picture of them for us Danuta? They were so tiny when I saw them.
The sun has made me happy today, it is so good to see it. My Roses are in bloom, as are two different colours of Poppy, Wallflowers, Irises, Feverfew, Foxgloves and Acquilegia - that all makes me happy too.
I'll try that again!
What I am liking is the sun and the flowers, already at 9 am it was 18 degrees centigrade here. Our climbing rose around the back door has the most wonderful scent, and the honeysuckle next to it is also in flower and also smells wonderful.
Bees are buzzing around the flowers, the chive flowers especially and also the raspberries. We have an unknown small tree/shrub at the front, next to the raspberry bed, which has very small flowers on it, which give little black berries later in the Autumn. It is by the front gate and as you walk past there is a veritable humming sound, like the bees are humming a tune to each other.
Are we having fun yet? I am!
Just heard our new English driving licenses have turned up at BIL house and he will post them on today. This was another saga........want to change to French license....realised our photo was two months out of date .......tried to renew......no go as live in France.....cannot get French license with out of date photo.....had to do change of address to BIL and renew photo....hopefully now we can get our French license sorted! It will be a big thing ticked off the list. Makes me very happy!
Trying to enjoy life as it is
What a lovely topic for a thread. Thank you, Sue. All is forgiven
Despite recent sad news, my daughter and I have been emailing back and forth regarding it in the past 48 hours.
Given that we were more or less estranged for many years it is a very heartening development and brings a warm glow.
Fingers crossed that we can build on it.
Never knowingly underfed
You're welcome, Danny....and it's so nice for you that something good has come out of something so sad.
Two bits of smiley happiness for me.....my best mate (who I don't see very often) rang this afternoon and we had a lovely chat, he always makes me laugh. And my sister rang to say that she and her best friend, who is a warm, scatty, (unintentionally!) funny and really lovely lady, want to come and stay with us in August. The only thing I really miss about living in Northampton is being able to see my sister regularly, we used to meet up for coffee and chats twice a week.

A second happy event came this aftenoon- my new trike is ready to collect - my heavy Goldwing went away to gain an extra wheel, thereby preventing it from falling over ever again. I shan't see it though until the 2nd week of July, a matter of a lovely holiday is delaying that. I'm justy about to have one of these
to celebrate.
