We're still thinking but we might have Edward as his middle name.

Traditional and good.

Looking up the meaning - it's varied, depends what you're reading.

Anglo-Saxon - guardian

Old English - rich; blessed

Wiki Old English - wealth; fortune prosperous

All sound pretty good, eh Mike?

Though to you, Emma and Orna, he is very special ! big_hug

Cheers everyone. Dr Emma is in charge of picking a name, or at leasts has final say, since I can never find a name I actually like!

Cheers.

So far, yes it has. I've only had time to make plain loaves of bread but with any luck I'll find time to bake something new and interesting.

I finally got around to the letter D and made Dundee Cake last week, following a recipe on the BBC website.

I somehow imagined it to be a heavy fruit cake (a bit like a christmas cake) but it was lighter than I expected, slightly sweet but with a lightly spiced flavour.

Next stop: The letter E. I might stay in scotland and try an Ecclefechan Tart since it sounds quite nice.

I have yet to try the Ecclefechan recipe, Mike, but Jan (Terrier) said they are delicious, so might be trying those very soon.  ok

I finally got around to making the ecclefechan tarts last night. I actually made the pastry on friday but ran out of time and it went into the fridge. No photos yet but we tried a slice last night while it was still a bit warm and it tasted good but it was still a bit soft and a sweet syrup oozed out when I cut into it. I'll take it out of the fridge and try another slice tonight...
