i have a huge pile of pillow cases for craft purposes they rarely cost more than 20p each and it means i get a lot of variety , plus the current fashion for shiny bedding , which they find is pretty to look at, but lousy to sleep with means theres loads in the charity shops , i also like bridesmaid dresses as a source of craft fabric , acres of it and once again charity shops are overun with them. I think i may have a fabric problem ive so much but i dont think theres a clinic to cure it ..lol .. Never done bags probably because i hardly ever use one anymore , i had one stolen a few years ago and since it had my life in it at the time, i just dont do it anymore .

Found this in my wanderings a while back and bookmarked it just in case.
Shut up, I'm counting

I've just made one using a woven cloth placemat for one side and a furniture store fabric sample for the other. I'm thinking of creative ways to make more, using: pillow cases, tee shirts, trousers, etc.
Anyone else make bags or totes or have suggestions?
Hi Lillia,
Have a look at Brightspark's bags etc : she has made some wonderful ones out of denim but I seem to have lost the link to the photos......does anyone else have a link to them??????

Lillia - have a look at this thread, as I'd found a blog of a lady who works with denim - a lot!!
Have just finished a little bag - I will be making four. It's quite pretty in pastel colours pink/pale blue/pale green and lavender, and then some green and lilac beads on the 'rope' to pull it together. This one will obviously be for a young lady! The others are one blue; one red; and one tartan.
While in France, I buy some little things for school - pencil sharpener; little book; eraser, pencil, etc, each for 4 children.
The idea is that I explain to them that I am looking for four children who can show me that they are really trying hard to do better, and then they will get their 'reward'.
I'm not looking for those who are already earning reward points for just being 'clever' - I want to see improvement, whether in reading, writing, or just concentrating, but also being kind and considerate to others.
For the rest of the class, I am making little animal bookmarks to encourage reading! (Probably some Christmas munchies, too !!)
I'll take some photos when they're all finished!
Here is a picture of the four little bags - unfortunately I didn't make any of them long enough to hide the pencil !!
