Thinking about quilts, I saw this recently - Japanese folded blocks:

I wouldn't mind trying this one - it looks more complicated than it is, I think.
We'll see.
Wow, this guy is talented - like it or not, it is clear he can work wonders with fabrics.
This is beautiful - though looks like very hard work and lots of patience...
This visit I have brought with me the group quilt made up of 16 house squares, and the group 'leader' has asked if I will embellish it.
Yesterday, I spent some time cutting out snippets of lace to create 'lace curtains' in each of the houses. I've also brought lots of fabrics with small pictures of birds, animals (e.g. fox, squirrel, dogs, cats, etc) to place around the quilt. In the centre I plan to attempt to create a tree - a tree of life - with branches into the quilt gaps, to keep it light, it will be a silver birch tree.
I just hope it will all work!
Have a lovely day, folks!
I'm still working on this quilt - in fact, still making the 'curtains' - I have finished 12 of them, and just 4 to go.
However, I also saw this some months ago, and have now started to make it while in Cornwall last week - and, I visited The Sewing Studio in Redruth.... son and daughter came with me to make sure I didn't spend too long in there! Naturally I bought stuff - fabrics and wadding...
Plenty to do, just need the time ...
