I am slowly starting a barter system. Swopping skills. It is hard getting people on board but so far there are two of us and we are good friends who would not take advantage.

We do lots of bartering, only it is not official but we have had goat, chicken, rabbit and pork meat from friends and neighbours. People here often leave excess produce out for people to take and we are in the middle of swapping plants at the moment or donating them as the case maybe. I don't think people here would be happy to do something official either as that would involve trust and that can be in short supply. roll_eyes

I love the internet for the ideas it throws up that inspire me to try something new or re-use some of the 'junk' I can't bring myself to throw away. Recently I came across this page on Pinterest so I thought you might enjoy it as much as I do.

Welcome, Jacqueline, you are also a doer, as we all are, always got something on the go. I am disabled, but sheer bloody mindedness, keeps me going, am about to have a shot at lagging the Greenhouse today, when my Porridge has gone down. Tina xwave

Pouring down with English style rain for the past 24 hours so garden jobs suspended which gave me a wonderful excuse for a pinterest session. I like it because I'm poop at drawing and himself can't understand my verbal descriptions of what I'm planning. With pinterest I can find something similar to what I want and show him explaining the differences between it and my vision.

Failing is not a fault, refusing to try is
