I am looking out my Seeds, today to see what I still need to buy, to start the growing season. I bought most of them when they were on offer last Autumn. I know I need an early Pea, no rude comments, please, and have finished my Dwarf Broad Beans, they are growing on well in the Greenhouse and will give me an early crop. Going to start off Shallots in individual Pots soon just waiting for them to arrive. Will chance an early sowing of 'Tan Tan' an early Lettuce, that did well last year. Soon starting Peppers off in the Propagator.
They need a long growing season. Bulbs and Pansies doing well, that I planted outside in the Autumn.
To add to that, well done Toni.
Nothing planted this year yet, but bulbs planted late last year appear to be coming through now. It is difficult to tell at present if they are the bulbs I planted or ones that were already there from previous plantings. Time will tell. It is surprising how quickly they have popped their heads through- a few weeks ago there were no signs of any bulbs in the ground.
Are we having fun yet? I am!
I've been very tempted over the past few weeks to start planting, but I've resisted with the thought that February can often hit hard after a mild winter, last night we had our first heavy frost of the year, it's not even gone from shady areas all day, so I shall hold off for longer, even though I've seen shrubs coming in to flower due to the mildness of the weather. Did some weeding and digging up over the weekend though.
