Hi Pat, this website recommends 'a few weeks' after adding lime before sowing. Have a read, but they suggest 'most plants benefit in soil with a pH of 6.5 - 6.8'.

Brassicas are best pH 6-7, so I wouldn't bother adding lime as that will make the pH higher. The higher the pH the more alkai the soil and lime is an alkali.
