I should warn you Danuta that it gave me a king size headache to begin with, so be warned and make sure you're stocked up with paracetamol! It helps a great deal if you drink lots of water in the first phase. I've tried several of the recipes now and they're all delicious, let me know if you want to know anything at all and I'll be happy to help if I can.
Have a fabulous time with your family

It is the lack of coffee that worries me too as it is my main drink other than water. I drink it black without sugar. I am not comfortable with decaff as it is chemical laden.I will do it though as it helps to know coffee comes back after the five days. I am going to start even if my visitors are here! Being the only veggie I nearly always cook two meals anyway. The thing I like most about what I have heard of this eating plan is that works in the real world. So many eating plans do not translate to real life.

Think you were right Sue about starting this when people are staying. I lasted until 3 pm but felt really rough, the porridge with yogurt made feel really sick and it carried on. With a dreadful headache and feeling very wobbly I gave up and had a coffee and cake. Now feel fine. I will try again once things have calmed down but will try giving up coffee before.

As Danuta said, Aly. You really need to start it at a quiet time with few responsibilities or distractions - the first 5 days can be a challenge. But I think the fact that it is only 5 days, and the end is so clearly in sight, makes it a lot easier to bear. And it is so worth it, believe me. Take care, Aly

A bit too ambitious! I will use the time to plan meals and write shopping lists

Discipline is what I'm sadly lacking in, Val - well, at times anyway!
Toni, a small amount of dark chocolate seems to do me no harm.....I just have to remember not to eat a whole family-size bar!! Just as well I'm not a chocoholic - I can take it or leave it, most of the time (honest!!). I'd far rather have a bag of crisps and hunk of cheese (now I'm drooling, stop it!!).
