Tuesday, Day 71 of Phase 2:

Breakfast: A nectarine & some plums.

Lunch:  2 large figs with Dolcelatte cheese, lightly warmed to just melt the cheese, with thin slices of Milanese Salami (not warmed) plus lots of black pepper. I had a couple of slices of wholewheat seedy bread with it, naughty I know, but I had to have something to mop up the melted cheese & fig juices.....there was no way I was going to waste those.

***Thanks Janet for the suggestion of the Dolcelatte with the figs...... adding the salami makes it a filling main meal. I might try Serrano ham or Prosciutto another time. I think these combinations might become real favourites with me. I love those Italian flavours.  smile

Supper:  A rice cake with slices of salami, a glass of red wine.  A nectarine & a banana.

Still more or less following the plan - sorry for not posting daily, life just keeps getting in the way cry

Weighed in on Thursday after the 5 day phase 1 was up - lost 3 lbs.  Not as much as I'd hoped, but then I didn't follow it as strictly as the last time.  Still quite a good result though.

Oh, and well done Aly and Nadine for your ongoing weight loss welldone

A loss is a loss Sue, am doing well with weight watchers and have also gone back to my running which is helping. I can see a difference now which makes me happy! This is definetly the plan that works for me.

Saturday, Day 75 of Phase 2:

Breakfast: A piece of cheese, some strawberries & a banana.

Lunch:  Cheese & ham with a mixed salad

Supper:  3 egg omelet with tomato & basil inside.

*** I think I must stop drinking so many glasses of red wine every week, cheating is OK every now & then.  My weight seems to go up & down rather a lot. Does anyone else find that?

With my regime it is mostly a steady loss with an occasional stay the same. I put on if I don't stay on track. Because wine has a points value, as does everything I can control my intake. Maybe try a week without wine and if it makes a difference you will have your answer. You do not seem to eat much though looking at your daily menus so I wouldn't have thought a glass of wine a day would cause you to put on weight. The body can go into starvation mode if you do not have enough calories and will not burn fat. As you have been doing this for a while now you may need to change what you eat a bit. Maybe try doing the carbs for a while rather than fat.

For me on Saturday, I am still on track and staying within my points allowed.

A tip that I was given so that the body didn't go into starvation mode was to follow the diet for three weeks and then eat normally.  As for the wine...I'll let you know on this one...three weeks almost without and do I feel better?  Do I bu**ery but I can't get out in the garden since the doctor told me to rest so that the body can heal, so no real huffing and puffing for me.

I have to lose about another half stone and I should do that in four weeks ready for my holidays.  No I'm not overweight but the beer and skittles just pile it on in the places that you don't want it....crycry

Good luck with whatever diet you are following and cheers, Nadine....when I've finished the tablets I'll raise a glass to you...big_laughbig_laugh

Hi Hattie,

Sorry you're disappointed with your losses - are you still following Harcombe ?

Red wine is a cheat so might not be helping but I also notice that you doing a lot of "mixing" - fruit with a fat meal for example. Berries are OK with a fat meal but any other fruit counts as a carb.

Hope this helps

Kate
