Monday, Day 35 of Phase 2:

Breakfast:  A handful of strawberries.  2 mashed up hard-boiled eggs & a rice cake.

Lunch:  3 rashers of unsmoked bacon & rather a lot of thinly sliced lambs liver & sliced onion sauteed with cherry tomatoes, I cook the onions & bacon first then add the whole little tomatoes, then add the liver last so it doesn't overcook. I deglazed the pan with Worcestershire sauce & the juice from a clementine to make a sauce.

[ I have to say I would have loved some mashed potatoes with this, to soak up the gravy....sadly not allowed this......cry ]

Supper: Not at all hungry after my large late lunch so all I had was a banana & a nectarine & a few more strawberries.

wave Nadine, I am sorry but I am not dieting properly this week,  I have my girls here.  ( ages 12 and almost 10 ) What with my friend who eats with me too, I could end up making three different meals.  Plus we are out and about quite a bit this week, eating out, picnics etc.  But I will be back with you next week.  I promise!!!   So please keep posting your menus.

I thought you were being a bit optimistic when you mentioned your granddaughters' visit. Have a wonderful time with them, you deserve it. I just hope the weather is OK for your picnics etc.  big_hug

Tuesday, Day 36 of Phase 2:

Breakfast:  3 mashed up hard-boiled eggs & 2 rice cakes.

Lunch:  A nectarine & a banana.

Dinner: A large piece of smoked cod, steamed with fresh herbs & lime juice along with broccoli & mange-tout.

[OK I know I should not have smoked fish or meat but Ocado sent it to me by mistake, it should have been fresh cod & once I discovered it I could not resist it]  It was delicious.  laugh

Thursday, Day 38 of Phase 2:

Breakfast: 2 kiwi fruit & a rice cake.

Lunch:  4 egg omelet filled with raw sliced cherry tomatoes, some grated mature Cheddar cheese & fresh basil leaves. This is the first 'proper' cheese I have eaten since I started the diet....I don't count the cottage cheese as it has no taste or texture....I could not hold out any longer as I love it in omelets. I just must not have it too often, as I used to.

Supper:  Salami & salad of lettuce & kiwi fruit with spring onion greens.  I wasn't at all hungry so it was only a tiny helping.

How long does Phase two last, for heaven's sake? surprised  Or does it never end?

I'll try that again!

Hi TA,

It lasts till you get down to your desired weight.....I have a long way to go.  I don't find the diet a strain. Only occasionally I get a desire to eat something I ought not to. I suspect I am eating too much fruit ( & therefore natural sugars) but I love it so as well as 'keeping me regular'.....! Of course the odd glass of wine doesn't help either.... whistle

Ah, so that is what it is about.  Did you say that you weren't allowed smoked things?  What is the reasoning behind that one?  More importantly how do you cope without bread?

I'll try that again!

I do have a little wholemeal seedy bread TA.  As for smoked meat & fish, we are supposed not to eat processed food.....I must say I miss the taste of it, especially in bacon & fish, just as I miss sugar in my black coffee.  I have been trying Agave syrup in the coffee & that is fine as far as taste is concerned.  I only have one mug of coffee most days but I love it to be sweet.....the rest of the day I drink weak black decaf. tea.

Saturday, Day 40 of Phase 2:

Breakfast:  Strawberries  & a rice cake.

Early lunch:  2 pieces of fillet of salmon, steamed with grated fresh ginger,a little garlic, a dribble of balsamic vinegar, soy sauce, lime juice & toasted sesame oil plus fresh herbs.  A juicy ripe nectarine afterwards.

Supper: Salami & slices of Cantaloupe melon.  A red wine spritzer

Thank you for the explanation, I'd hate to be without bacon or smoked fish.

I'll try that again!
