Eeek!  I thought I had posted a query but now I can't find it -what_the_heck  Must have done me sums wrong!doh

Anyway -  Danny, TA, (anybody with a bit of nouse) - my sister has just given me her old Sony digicamera and I want to load a few shots onto Photobucket and then make a link.  The camera came with a disc, 'Cyber-shot'.  Question: do I need to install Cyber-shot before I hook up to Photobucket?  I don't want to store photos on my own computer, so don't want to install Cyber-shot if it is not necessary.  I've signed up with Photobucket just to get a look at what it offers, and cannot see any Instructions for Dummies on how to connect camera to computer.  The camera instruction book only covers how to operate the camera - and yes, I really do need such basic advice!  I bet all this is really easy-peasy, but I'm such a technophone. embarassed (Is there such a thing as a 'Wimp' emoticon?)

Gone crazy. Back soon.

I'm not sure but I had to load Finepix onto my computer via a CD to load pictures on the laptop then from there onto Photobucket.   If you can find a way to do that then you could delete shots from your PC after loading on PB if it's a matter or storage space.

I hope someone with a greater knowledge than mine will be along shortly to help you.

I'll try that again!

wave  Heather you must have a lead with a USB  connection from your camera to the computer.  I download my photos to iphoto and then upload to Photobucket, but you may be able to upload from your camera.  I too have a cybershot and did not have to install anything to link to Photobucket.  I use a Mac so it may be different though.  I find PB very easy to use.( now I have the hang of it)    Good luck

What starstars you both are!  Thanks a lot for the help.  The video guide was a brilliant back-up guide to using the camera - so much quicker than reading through the instruction book again.  I've decided to forego the farm today (far too cold to be planting trees!) so I have some spare time to play around with the camera.  I'll let you know how I get on.  smile

Well, Girls, I've had an excruciating day trying to get to grips with camera, connection to computer and finally into Photobucket - but I MADE IT!!  Had lots of problems trying to connect camera to computer, then poof magic it suddenly worked.  Still can't work out what I was doing wrong for about 3 hours.  Got side-tracked/bogged down with loads of techy stuff from technogeeks on how to remove bits of software in order to re-instate failed camera wizards, then suddenly my little pic appeared, no Wizard required.smile  ONE photo now installed on PB, and I've just failed at the last hurdle to get a shortened link to it (see Test thread).  Too tired to continue now , but very soon - hopefully  you will see my little furry friend.  It's worth the wait, so keep tracking me.  Thanks for all the support.

Gone crazy. Back soon.
