Logged on to find a recipe, and here I am..........a colander full of (what i believe to be) Damsons, so hopefully will have a pretty potent, flavoursome tipple to bring the new year in!

Welcome Tyke to the mad house¦I speak for a few of the souls on here...others will welcome you in their own way.  Look forward to the New Year and toast it in with a drop of your own......winkwink

I'm just about to harvest my sloes¦.not only to welcome in the New Year but for any excuse that I feel worthy of 'calling the shots'¦.big_laugh

Hi there Paul,

Glad you decided to join us & start making our boozy fruit winter warmers.....There are masses of them in Fiona's blog & on the forum. My kitchen cupboard is full of them.....so I shall be very merry this Christmas.

I hope you make lots...they are rather addictive......big_laugh

Hi and welcome Paul wave

I made plum vodka and blackberry gin last year, for the first time ever....YUMMMM (and I don't even like vodka, but with the plums in it.....oh, YUM).  Still a little bit left of both (I've been so awfully restrained eeekbig_laugh).  Have a wonderful crop of blackberries this year so gin will be on my shopping list for the next few weeks (no of course it isn't normally, whatever do you mean??? whistle).

Welcome Paul - I know Wilmslow - used to live on the borders of Prestbury and Alderley Edge - a long time ago now ...... ponder

You may not have an allotment, but there are plenty of ways of growing things - CSH has a lot of very inventive people all willing to share their knowledge and experience.

Enjoy the ride!! whistle
